Most women want their nails to look good since this will show that they are well maintained, neat and have good hygiene. A broken, chipped nail is unsightly and can give a bad impression. Women hate to have their nails broken because they need to go to the salon again and pay to let their nails be fixed. Instead of paying $3-$5 to repair a broken nail by a nail technician, you can make your own nail glue to fix it yourself. This will save you both time and money. You just need a few things that are commonly found at your home. Here are steps on how to make nail glue.
Step # 1: Recognize the advantages of making homemade nail glue.
This homemade glue is applicable not only to broken nails but also to acrylic nails attach to natural nails. Nail glue often comes in small bottles that run more quickly before you know it. Making your own glue can make you apply acrylic nails without purchasing another bottle of glue. This means it will cost you no money at all.
Step # 2: Prepare the materials.
Have with you a small plastic container, a bottle of PVA glue, small paint brush, a bottle of clear nail polish, scissors, kebab stick, soap, water and clean towel. Polyvinyl Acetate Glue is the same with the white glue that is commonly used at home. If you do not have any of it at home, you can purchase it at your local drugstore, value store or at a craft store. Try to use a nail polish that gives nourishment and aids in the nail growth of the natural nails.
Step # 3: Clean the container and mix the glue solution.
Use a mild soap and water to clean the plastic container. Then dry it only with a clean soft towel. Pour 1 cup of the PVA glue into the plastic container and stir it with a clean kebab stick. Pour also half of the bottle of the clear nail polish into the glue mixture stirring it with the kebab stick. You can also use a toothpick to thoroughly blend the nail polish with the white glue. You have to check if there are still streaks or other signs that the solution is not fully mixed yet.
Step # 4: Use the homemade glue for broken nails.
To repair a broken nail, use another clean toothpick to apply the glue. Dip the clean toothpick into the mixture for a small amount of the glue and place the glue directly on top of the broken nail to seal it.
Step # 5: Apply the nail glue on acrylic nails.
To apply an acrylic nail to your natural nail, use a thin and clean nail polish brush and apply paint to your nails. Dip the nail polish brush into the glue mixture and dab onto the nail covering approximately 1/3 of the total nail surface. Press the acrylic nail using your free hand onto your natural nail. Apply pressure enough to let the acrylic nail adhere to the real nail. After 90 seconds you can check if the glue is holding the acrylic nail and if not you can apply another thin layer of the glue. Repeat the process on your other nails and allow the glue to harden for about 10 minutes.
All these steps will teach you to make homemade nail glue and use it to your advantage. Remember to wash your hands with warm water and soap to get rid of excess glue. Apply a nail polish remover if needed. Do not use your nails as tools like in opening a can of soda.
