Tip # 1: Prepare the things you may use for manicure.

Have everything ready like your nail polish, nail polish remover, cuticle softener, nail cutter, nail pusher and clipper, nail file, nail brush and some pieces of cotton.

Tip # 2: Prepare the nail surface.

Remove old nail polish and have your nails’ surface free from dirt to avoid creating bubbles when applying the nail polish.

Tip # 3: Prepare the nail color polishes.

Bring all the nail polishes that you have. Why not check your mom’s and sister’s or your friends’ personal stash? You don’t need to buy a new one if you can ask for some for free.  This includes any nail polish color and sheer, metallic nail polish. Pick your base color which should be darker, preferably matte color. You must choose also your top color which is a sheer polish. A metallic color is best for a top coat.

Tip # 4: Mix existing color nail polish.

Now, with all the colors around, you can experiment by mixing different colors among the nail polishes that you have to get the color or shade you wish. In order to give a dark nail polish a lighter shade, you can put a single coat of a platinum nail color first then apply a darker shade for the second coat.

Tip # 5: Apply the base coat

You are now ready to apply the base coat with the color of your choice. Be sure to fully cover the nail. Allow the first coat to dry before applying a second one for more color and to make the nail polish stay longer.

Tip # 6: Apply a sheer polish

Make sure that the base coat has dried up. When you have done so then you can now apply a sheer polish preferably a metallic one.

Tip # 7: Apply a clear top coat

Make use of a top coat that will make your nails look shiner. You have now created a new nail polish color on your fingers out of polishes you already owned!

Tip # 8: Try another way of making a new nail polish.

Use a small funnel or make use of the corner of an envelope if you don’t have any. Position the funnel on top of an open clear nail polish bottle. Pour any color of eye shadow and the glitters into the nail polish bottle through the funnel. Use cheap eye shadows so you can have several colors. Use a small wooden stick to mix them well or close the bottle and shake well.

These are tips that you can make use of when creating new nail polish colors. There is no reason to shell out some more cash from your pockets. You have the tools ready in your homes and all you have to do is use them to your advantage.
