Nail art is one way to spice up your look. You can make your nail art to compliment your outfit in a special occasion or add a unique style to your every day appearance. A detailed nail art can be done by nail art professionals but there are some techniques you can easily do at home. With just a little practice and patience you will be able to create a beautiful and unique design to brighten up your nails. One of this is applying perfect dots on acrylic nails. Learn how to make this design.
Tip #1: Make perfect dots on acrylic nails before attaching the latter to your fingers.
Once you apply them when the acrylic nails are already attached to your nails, there is a risk of smearing the polish when you move your hands. To make perfect dots, use a manicurist’s “dotting tool.” This looks like a pen with a nib on each end which has a small ball. Dotting tools have different diameters so you can make different sizes of dots on your acrylic nails.
Tip #2: Prepare your nails and cuticles.
Make sure that your nails are healthy, beautiful and in good shape. They should not be bitten and must be clean. Cuticles should look nice and healthy too. You can use petroleum jelly to make them soft.
Tip #3: Choose the right nail polish.
Since there are different paints and polishes for nail art that are available in the market, you must choose the right product. You can experiment on different brands and types of polish and paints first to see which is best for you. Don’t forget to try on acrylic crafts because these are a lot cheaper and work great as well. For the materials to use, there are professional nail art kits which include brushes, stripers and marbling tools. However, a toothpick or bobby pin can help you apply dots on acrylic nails. Don’t forget to always have acetone to quickly remove mistakes and cotton balls to apply the acetone.
Tip #4: Put the acrylic nail on a flat surface.
Place acrylic nail on a flat surface. To begin with paint them with a neutral color that serves as a base coat. Make sure this is done even and neat. Let them dry well before you proceed to the next step.
Tip #5: Prepare the nail polish for the dots.
Shake the bottle of the nail polish you are going to use for the dot application. After removing the cap, dip the dotting tool into the nail polish. Do not plunge the dotting tool all the way into the nail polish. It would be better if you drop it just enough to cover the ball at the end. If there are any excess, tap the dotting tool at the edge of the polish to knock off the excess polish.
Tip #6: Put the dots on your acrylic nails.
Press the end of the dotting tool against your acrylic nail gently then remove the tool. Let the dot dry thoroughly before applying another dot so that if you smear a dot you can easily remove it without wiping the other dots off the nail. Once all your dots are dry, apply acrylic top coat so as to seal and protect your nail art. Try to reapply top coat every 2-3 days to make your nail art last longer and to keep your nails look shiny always. You can also apply cuticle oil daily.
Putting dotted nail art may be a meticulous process. The secret though is to make sure you use some tips to help you make the entire job easier than expected.
